  • 24.04.2018  Visit of the European Commissioner

Excited about the visit of the European Commissioner for Transport, Ms Violeta Bulc in our company; where we had an opportunity to present Elpa’s latest technologies and solutions for the effective reduction of rail friction noise at its source.

  • 06.07.2015  The Portuguese have decided to silence the rail traffic

The leading company in the field of wear out and noise reduction on source ELPA d.o.o. continues its mission in making the life close to railways quieter and peaceful. After the testing phase in Lisbon the responsible authorities nod to mounting CL-E1 devices in Portugal.
Portuguese rail infrastructure manager REFER Engineering, S.A. (the company name was renamed to Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A. on the1st June 2015), who is a state-owned company, granted the certification of validation and acceptance for use of CL-E1 ws device in the Rede Ferroviária Nacional (i.e. National Railway Network) due to results achieved in the testing phase. They concluded that CL-E1 ws device reduces environmental noise and simultaneously decreases the lateral wear of the railhead, which in another proof that speaks in favour of the system efficiency. CL-E1 systems are being developed all the time based on WONROS (Wear Out and Noise Reduction OSource) technology what makes them not only green but especially clean.

    CERTIFICATE OF VALIDATION AND ACCEPTANCE

    01-2015
    ELPA d.o.o.
According to the certification process instructed and to the results obtained, REFER ENGINEERING S.A., authorized by REDE FERROVIÁRIA NACIONAL – REFER, E.P.E., hereby grants the certification for use in the Rede Ferroviária Nacional of the:
ELPA Fixed Lubricator, model CL-E1 ws, so as to reduce environmental noise and simultaneously decrease the lateral wear of the railhead.
Any changes to the abovementioned tested equipment must be immediately communicated to REFER ENGINEERING, S.A.
This certificate is considered to be valid as long as the conditions referred to in DMS 1739934 006, which led to the certification, and the operating conditions set forth by standard GR.MN.VIA.002 are kept.

  • 16.12.2014  ELPA won UIC Research and Innovation Award

2nd “UIC Research and Innovation Awards” were presented in Paris on the occasion of the UIC General Assembly, held on 3th of December 2014 (UIC eNews” Nr 428).
The awards went to the six categories, where company ELPA d.o.o. received Award in the Category for Cost reduction and Sustainable Development for its innovative DRYproANNSYS “bs” – airless wheel flange lubrication system.
The award ceremony took place in the presence of UIC Chairman Vladimir Yakunin, Vice Chairman Michele Elia, as well as Director-General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux. The awards were presented by Mr Boris Lapidus, Director-General of the Russian Railway Research Institute (VNIIZhT), Chairman of the Scientific Committee at Russian Railways (RZD), and Chairman of the UIC International Railway Research Board (IRRB) as well as by Jerzy Wisniewski, Director of Fundamental Values at UIC.
ELPA d.o.o. has already won recognition from UIC International Railway Research Board in year 2012 for its BREMEX ANNSYS anti-noise system for retarders at marshalling yards as for ELPA’s significant contribution to the innovation of the global railway system as well.
  • 03.06.2014 Prague – ELPA Ltd successfully presented solution against braking noise on hump yards

  • 12.05.2014  ELPA introduces the BREMEX ANNSYS in international conference in Prague

ELPA will be taking part in the 13th international ‘BETTER CITIES FOR BETTER LIFE’ conference, taking place in Prague, 12-13 May 2014, and will introduce its proven and efficient technology against environmental burden (railway noise).

In the past marshalling yards were located outside cities and therefore the inhabitants were not exposed to the high frequency noise (squealing), but an increase in population growth in towns has led to the fact that local people are now living in their direct vicinity. These people are exposed to high levels of noise (over 130dBA), which have a very negative impact on their health.

Luckily for residents living in the vicinity of shunting railway stations, ELPA has developed a highly efficient system against high frequency braking noise – BREMEX ANNSYS.

The BREMEX ANNSYS anti-noise system has been especially developed for reduction of the braking noise of rail brakes at a marshalling yard, sourcing from the process of shunting – braking of waggons. This squealing during the braking process can be almost completely removed with the BREMEX ANNSYS system, leading to a reduction of common noise by 30dBA. Because decibel is a logarithmic unit, reduction by 30dBA is an enormous value.

The BREMEX ANNSYS system can also enable effective economical benefit with protection against wear of rail braking segments, wagon flanks, switches, check (contra) rails, etc., which means less maintenance cost due to the increase of their life span – not to mention that the price of real estate in the vicinity of marshalling yards increases.

ELPA’s portfolio also includes technology and other efficient systems for the prevention of noise in burdened living areas, which will also be presented at the conference.

ELPA representatives will be at the Prague conference to tell you more about the BREMEX ANNSYS and other technology. For further information please contact ELPA.
